Embrace the rain

Embrace the rain because things happen, good and bad.

Sometimes the bad things make us lose focus of the good and that often leads us to suffer. But, what we do in the rain is what shapes us. William Mulligan once said this, "You can dance in the rain or sulk in the rain. It will rain regardless." I hope by now you see that the rain represents the events of life.

Life never ceases to send things our way. Some are good and some are bad. We can take the rain given to us and sulk or we can dance. The Latin phrase "amor fati' puts this in a better perspective. Amor fati is simple, lover of fate. This means to love whatever comes your way. To dance in the rain, you must love whatever comes your way. Loving the rain you get puts you in control. If you are in control then you hold the power to let the events empower you.

That is a very powerful ability that all of us can master.

Amor fati.
